There has been no such duo in the 43-year history of KBO…A fantastic collaboration with the former and current steal king, the first equation of '50+50=100' is born

Such a duo has never existed in the 43-year history of the KBO. Doosan Bears' one-two punch Jung Soo-bin (34) and Cho Soo-haeng (31) ran and ran, making them the first Korean pro baseball team to steal 50 bases together. 메이저놀이터

Jung Soo-bin started as the first center fielder in the last showdown of the season against SSG Landers of the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 23rd, giving birth to the first KBO League record in the bottom of the second inning.

Jung Soo-bin hit a grounder to the second base against SSG starter Song Young-jin in the bottom of the second inning with one out and runners on the second and third bases. Second baseman Jung Joon-jae succeeded in getting on base by stepping on the first base while catching third baseman Yeo Dong-gun with a home throw following a good defense.

Jung successfully stole second base when his follow-up hitter Kim Jae-ho was at bat, and became the 50th stealer in his first single season since debuting. The previous record was 39 steals last year, when he became the first stealer in his career. And with his junior Cho, who already reached 63 steals (first place), he also became the first team to hit 50 steals in the KBO league.

The previous record was 40 steals. Following the OB Bears' Chung Soo-geun (50 steals) and Kim Min-ho (46 steals) in 1997, NC Dinos' Park Min-woo (46 steals), Kim Jong-ho (41 steals) and Eric Thames (40 steals) in 2015, they have achieved the feat. The duo of Jung Soo-bin and Cho has become the first to overcome legendary players in the steal field.

In addition, Jung appeared on the first base with no outs in the bottom of the fifth inning, drew a walk, stole second base again, and reported his 51st stolen base. It was the moment when he tied for second in the stolen base category along with Hwang Sung-bin of the Lotte Giants.

After the game, Jung Soo-bin said, "We achieved a difficult record of 50 steals with the same team. Above all, I am glad that our Doosan Bears set a record of "the first ever." In addition, it is also good that Doosan Bears is likely to have a steal king following last year."

As Jung Soo-bin said, Cho, who is tying for second, is close to winning his first stolen base. The gap between Hwang Sung-bin and Jung Soo-bin, who are tying for second, is 12, and considering the remaining number of games (three games in Doosan and six games in Lotte), Cho is expected to rank first. Cho, who was selected as the fifth in the first round of Doosan in the 2016 Rookie Draft, will be honored as the title holder for the first time in his debut if he wins the title.

Cho, who led the team to achieve 50 steals together, told OSEN, "I feel good to hear that it's my first time. And I think it's all the more meaningful to make that record with (Jeong) Subin, who I really like and respect. I want to build a lot of good records with Subin next year as well."

"SOOBIN gave me a lot of advice on hitting and running base ahead of this season. I would like to thank the team, Coach Goto, Coach Kim Dong-han, and Coach Jeong Jin-ho in the second division once again," he said, expressing his gratitude to senior players and leaders who helped him with his first history.

Doosan beat SSG 8-4 to secure its fifth consecutive home victory and beat SSG by two games. Now, if Doosan holds onto its three remaining games well, it can start the postseason at home unlike last year.

Jung Soo-bin said, "The season is just around the corner. Everyone in my team knows that every game is important. I will do my best to have good results in the remaining three games," and Cho said, "There are three more games left. Everyone in my team knows the importance of these games. My role is to somehow survive and shake the opponent's battery. I will keep that in mind and play my best."
